My whimsical animal characters are something I enjoy painting the most, creating their character and capturing their interesting details. I mostly use watercolors and gouache when painting them. Before each final illustration I do a lot of sketches, animal studies, observing animals in real life (or on photos or videos). The final character comes together after a lot of trial and error.  

With my animals I love to make bigger compositions too.
